Some may even be official t-shirts that are screen printed with the permission of the bands themselves. But the real vintage and retro t-shirts that collectors are in search of are the ones that many of the crew and stage hands were given.
These were rare and usually only given to people who helped them out on road trips. Some were shirts that were never put into print for one reason or another and others were the first of their kind before revisions were made. Many of the first classic rock t-shirts were not screen printed but actually appliqués that had to be steam pressed onto the fabric.
This is one reason these shirts are so valuable. The appliqués that were used would begin to bubble up and peel after a number of times in the washer and dryer. To find one that is pristine is a treasure.
When screen printing t-shirts was used, the shirts became much more common. Screen printing allowed the ink to be absorbed by the fabric so they were less likely to fade and peel away from the fabric. This also allowed the merchandise to be mass produced and much more readily available. Bands that were just beginning their journey to stardom sold these for advertisement purposes in the beginning. Later they became a symbol of loyalty to the bands that were emblazoned on the front. Today the same classic style of t-shirts can be purchased online with the names of many of the old classic bands on them. They were such a novelty in the early years of the bands that many still have a soft place in their hearts for these fashion statements.
The unique designs of the shirts allowed the wearers to make their own fashion statement while they donned the sometimes questionable apparel. Some of the new t-shirts are even printed to appear as if they are vintage, with a faded look to them. New Research Report: Philippines Retail Report Q2 2010

Feb 10, 2010 – The Q110 BMI Philippines Retail Report predicts that the country's retail sales will grow from just over US$23bn in 2009 to more than US$40bn by 2014. Strong underlying economic growth, an expanding population (especially in urban areas), the rise in consumer spending and the continued development of organised retail infrastructure are key factors behind the forecast growth in the Philippines' retail sales. The Philippines' nominal GDP was US$157.19bn in 2009. Average annual GDP growth of 3.6% is predicted by BMI through to 2014. With the population expected to increase from an estimated 91.4mn in 2009 to 100.1mn by 2014, GDP per capita is forecast to rise by nearly 63% by the end of the forecast period, reaching US$2,796. Our assumption of consumer spending per capita is for an increase from US$1,767 in 2009 to US$2,397 by 2014. Although salaries in the Philippines remain low - BMI estimates the 2009 average annual wage at US$2,000 - household incomes are substantially bolstered by contributions from family members working overseas. Overseas remittances were a record US$16.4bn in 2008, according to the Central Bank of the Philippines (BSP), and with the bulk going into consumption rather than investments the retail industry is one of the beneficiaries. In urban areas in particular, there are also increasing numbers of dual income, middle class families and young professionals who are boosting retail sales. The country's growing youth population represents a key element of future retail spending. According to UN data, 36.7% of the Philippine population in 2005 was in the 20-44 age range. This is forecast to increase to nearly 39% by 2015. The proportion of the population classified by the UN as economically active was 60.9% in 2005 and should rise to almost 63% by 2015. The urban population, which accounted for 62.6% of the total in 2005, is predicted to reach nearly 70% by 2015. About 50% of the country's total retail sales are concentrated in Manila metropolitan area. Consumer electronics sales were worth an estimated US$3.29bn in 2009, according to BMI data, and are forecast to rise by 47% to US$4.84bn towards the end of the forecast period. Sales of over-the-counter (OTC) pharmaceutical products are predicted to increase from US$0.82bn in 2009 to US$1.38bn by 2014, a rise of 68.5%. Automotives sales should increase by 16%, from US$0.98bn in 2009 to US$1.14bn before the end of the forecast period. Retail sales for the BMI universe of Asian countries in 2009 were an estimated US$2.26trn. China and India alone in 2009 accounted for more than 93% of regional retail sales, and by 2014 their share of the regional market is still expected to exceed 91%. Growth in regional retail sales for 2009-2014 is put by BMI at 79%, or an annual average 14%. The Philippines should experience the most rapid rate of growth, followed by Malaysia. For the Philippines, the estimated 2009 market share of 1.0% is expected to increase to 1.8% by 2014.

Why does Dell Precision M20 Battery stop charging ?

Feb 07, 2010 – My Dell laptop has a power problem.
The Dell Precision M20 Battery
stops charging when I move the power cord on the DC adapter. When I start moving the cord left to right, the power LED light on the front goes on and off and the battery charge LED goes on and off too.
I removed the precision m20 battery and tested the laptop again. The laptop starts fine from the DC adapter when the battery is removed, but as soon as I start moving the power cord the laptop shuts off. It looks like the laptop looses power immediately.
If you have a problem like that, most likely it’s related either to the power adapter or the DC-IN power jack.
First of all, I tested the laptop power ac adapter with a multimeter. The power didn’t cut off no matter how badly I moved the cord. The power adapter output voltage was 15.45VDC all the time. That means there is nothing wrong with the power adapter and most likely there is a problem with with the power socket inside the laptop.
Now I’m going to test the power socket inside the laptop.
In order to access the power socket I had to disassemble the laptop and remove the top cover assembly with the display.

In the laptop I was fixing (Tecra M2) the power jack is attached to a DC-IN harness and this harness can be unplugged from the motherboard.
As you see, I removed the DC-IN harness from the motherboard, plugged in the power adapter and tested continuity with my multimeter as it shown on the picture.
When the power cord is still, the voltage output is 15.45VDC, the same as on the plug.
But as soon as I start wiggling the plug inside the jack, the power cuts off and voltage goes to 0. It means, the power harness is bad.
The problem was fixed after I replaced the defective DC-IN harness with a new one.
In some laptops the power socket (DC jack) is soldered to the motherboard.
If the battery stops charging when you wiggle the power plug inside the jack, either you have a bad power adapter (test it with a voltmeter) or the power jack is broken or loose.
You cannot simply unplug the jack and replace it with another one. You’ll have to unsolder the old jack and solder a new one back on the motherboard as I described in this post.
If the power jack is not broken but loose (not making good contact with the motherboard) you can resolder the old jack without replacing it with a new one.

They asked how often shoppers returned unwanted clothes and found that 96% admitted they did not bother taking back all unwanted purchases, leaving many languishing unused products in cupboards and ill fitting clothing at the bottom of wardrobes with the tags still on.
The average amount of money spent per person that what not refunded was £100 a year which leads to a figure of at least £300 million that is wasted each year by shoppers on unwanted items.
67% of those asked admitted it was sheer laziness that stopped them going back to the shops to get refunds on clothing that was unsuitable, with a further 45% saying that when they spent less money on purchases, such as items in the sales they were less inclined to go and get refunds or exchanges if they decided they did not like it.
32% blamed online shopping, stating that posting an item to be refunded was not worth the hassle and that they would rather just keep it.
1 in 4 of those questioned opted to donate the item to charity, with 2 in 4 saying they prefer to give the unwanted item to a friend.

New location revealed for wedding vows at Lake District Hotels

Feb 03, 2010 – Over 150 brides travelled to Inn on the Lake from London and the South coast, to attend their most spectacular wedding fayre. In the hotel grounds a huge marquee was
launched as a new venue that can be hired for weddings in the gardens - to accommodate up to 200 guests.
Inn on the Lake General Manager Gary Wilson said “The views from the hotel are renowned so it is the perfect place to have a lakeside wedding, with the new Gazebo
licensed for civil ceremonies and the wedding marquee”.
Brides stepped into the marquee which revealed a taste of how it could look on their wedding day with fantastic table settings, a chocolate fountain on display and unspoilt views down the to lake. This was also the venue for the fashion show which included three Penrith wedding specialists - Tilly’s for Mother of the Bride outfits, Edwards for Menswear and Kokoa Brides - Cumbria’s newest Bridal house which opened in Penrith last week.
There was however, one exhibit that wowed brides to be, even more - the new ‘Victorian style’ gazebo set in the garden close to the water’s edge. Beverley Kelso, Wedding Co-ordinator at The Inn on the Lake part of the Lake District Hotels Ltd group said “It is a unique place to exchange vows in one of the prettiest settings in the Lakes and allows us to stay one step ahead of other venues. It has already become THE Lake District wedding venue of choice for brides who have booked to get married here this summer and is set to entice many more in the coming months. We already have one of the most photographed jetties in the country - a fantastic place for stunning pictures, and now, our brides can marry outside in the gazebo, overlooking the lake, the jetty and the mountains. There is no other place like it in the whole of the Lakes.”
