Restrictions

Aside from the usual rules, the following applies. Visitors of this specific event are allowed to take pictures of the event. All entrants need to agree to this if they want to compete in this event. A special entry for this purpose has been added to the Cosplay Competition registration form. However it is NOT allowed to use FLASH photography! Remember other people's personal (as well as third parties) rights will always apply, but what you do with YOUR pictures/recordings is YOUR OWN responsibility!

Registration Timeline:

•   March 22: Registration closes.

•   March 29: All registrations have been notified if they are allowed to participate. For those that did not make the cut, a new storyboard can be handed or one can be made during the Cosplay day of April 10th, with the help of people with years of experience.

•   April 10: Kinjin and Stichting Promotie Japanse Popcultuur's Cosplay day. During this day you can learn a bit about acting, get support on your costumes, get help with the details in your script and, above all, meet your cosplay friends.

•   May 3: Scripts have to be handed in.

•   May 22: Cosplay day!

Rules

Aside from the usual rules, the following applies.

•   For cosplay weapons guidelines read the house rules. Dutch weapons law will always apply!

•   For now acts are time limited according to the following criteria.

1 person act = 3 minutes maximum

2 person act = 3 minutes maximum

3 or more persons act = 4 minutes maximum

Please be aware that this is a hard limit, imposed to ensure that as many people as possible can be allowed to participate!

•   You need to attend the Cosplay Competition rehearsal at Saturday! If you don't, your act gets cancelled! Keep in mind that this will take some time, BUT gives you the opportunity to check out the stage, rehearse your act and be better prepared for this event!

•   You will have to provide us with a storyboard of the act when you sign up. In the past there have been acts that just were too boring to watch. To prevent this from happening again, we will review your storyboard. Only if we give an OK you will actually be allowed to perform the act at the Cosplay Competition. Sorry if this sounds harsh, but we want to present the best possible show to the public occupying the 840 seats of the theatre room.

•   Visitors of this specific event are allowed to take pictures of the Cosplay Competition. All contenders need to agree to this if they want to compete in this event. A special entry for this purpose has been added to the Cosplay Competition registration form. However it is NOT allowed to use FLASH photography! Remember other people's personal (as well as third parties) rights will always apply, but what you do with YOUR pictures/recordings is YOUR OWN responsibility!
