Kiyonna Clothing Goes Above and Beyond the Rack with Dignity U Wear

PR Log (Press Release) – Mar 22, 2010 – Rather than deep discounting excess merchandise for sale, plus size manufacturer Kiyonna Clothing has opted to engage in a collaborative effort with Florida-based charity organization, Dignity U Wear to directly change the lives of women in need.  Over 500 new dresses and career separates will be given away to help women preparing to go on job interviews, the work force and about their daily lives.

Dedicated to positively impacting the lives of children and their families, Dignity U Wear distributes the newly acquired apparel with the hopes of restoring a renewed sense of hope.  For the last three years, Kiyonna has worked alongside with Dignity U Wear to provide curvy women new dresses, tops and bottoms in sizes 10-32.

“We have tremendous appreciation for Kiyonna and for their generous clothing donations.  As a result of Kiyonna’s philanthropic spirit, Dignity U Wear has been able to provide lovely apparel for our plus size recipients facing traumatic time in their lives.  These beautiful garments give ladies the dignity needed to pursue a career to help support themselves and their families.” says Karin Bunnell, Director of Procurement at Dignity U Wear.

Allocating off-season merchandise and preparing them for distribution is no small feat.  A welcome annual challenge for this plus size powerhouse, every Kiyonna team member partakes in the organizing and packing process.  “Donating to an organization like Dignity U Wear gives an amazing feeling!  I know that at the end of the day, I work for a company full of women with big hearts, and that there is nowhere else that I would want to work.  I get to come to work and help someone else and that makes me feel like there is good in the world and everyone deserves a piece of it!” Michelle Wright, Operations Specialist at Kiyonna Clothing.
